Situated in Capri Village with a glorious view of the Atlantic Ocean and Noordhoek Beach in front, the Noordhoek Amphitheatre to the right and a nature reserve with proteas and fynbos on its left, this is the perfect spot to explore the beautiful Cape Peninsula.
Set in a natural garden with guinea fowl, tortoises and singing birds (there are 80 recorded species in the area), the luxury suites and well-equipped timber cottage offer a haven after a day's sightseeing in the glorious Cape.

Central to whale viewing, Cape Point Nature Reserve, Boulders Beach with its famous Jackass Penguins, Constantia and other wine wine routes, Noordhoek art route, Kirstenbosch and many focal points. Horse riding, bird watching, mountain walks, cycling, yachting, golf etc close by.
In season, see the whales at Fish Hoek and take a drive up Chapman's Peak pass to see the dolphins frolic in Hout Bay. Drive on round the Bay to the fishing village itself and watch the catch coming in. Day trips can be made to historic SimonsTown, once a British naval base and now the home of the South Africa Navy, a picturesque yacht marina and great restaurants.
Take a trip to Cape Point Nature Reserve to see the proteas and the baboons or Boulders Beach with its famous penguin colony - that's just 15 minutes away. The famous Constantia wine route is on your doorstep - dine at Stellenbosch Wine Estate or taste wines in Franschoek, where the Huguenots started the Cape wine industry centuries ago.
If you love swimming or walking on deserted beaches, there's Noordhoek, Fish Hoek, Clovelly, Kalk Bay, St James and Muizenburg with golden sands stretching as far as the eye can see around the coast.South Africa's National treasure -Kirstenbosch Gardens are 25 minutes drive towards the city and then there's Cape Town itself where Jan van Riebeeck landed in 1652 to found the Cape Colony.
Don't miss the Castle Good Hope and the Botanic Company Gardens, which lead to the Parliament buildings. Then head for the harbour and the amazing V & A Waterfront for a myriad of shops and restaurants serving fish and crayfish brought in daily by the fishermen, all that is just a drive away from Makapa Lodge. Then there are scores of little historic Cape towns and villages to the North and East, which you will definitely have to come back to explore.
The sparkling pool leading out from the suites is for use by all the guests at the lodge. This lovely outdoor area is wind-protected and most suitable for sunbathing.
