Nestled on a working cattle and sheep farm, close to the quaint village of Bedford in the Eastern Cape, Request Farm Cottage offers a tranquil haven and a secluded experience for guests. The farm is only a two-hour drive from Port Elizabeth and East London, thus offering an ideal weekend breakaway for city dwellers seeking an opportunity to get away from it all.
Relax on the leather couches in front of the fireplace in winter and listen to some music in candle light, or play one of the family games provided. There is no TV as this is the time to reconnect with family and friends. Laze in the morning sun with a magazine or book on the veranda which offers a spectacular view over the savannah grasslands and the Kaga Mountains. The cottage is service daily and there are braai facilities available with braai packs and firewood for sale.
Apart from enjoying the secluded atmosphere, you are welcome to walk or hike in the fresh air while enjoying the views and getting close to many species of antelope which roam the grasslands, or even go fishing in one of the nearby dams. Mountain biking is one of our main attractions where we offer a cycle safari for a few days, on a safe and quiet route that takes you through the historical settler’s country, with a few national monuments on the way. Guests are also welcome to bring their quad bikes to explore the area. |
