Description
Having recently undergone a major refurbishment, Fawn castle offers an oasis from the hustle and bustle of metropolitan Durban.

Situated in the Valley of 1000 hills, one km from Green sleeves and camelot, three km from Camp Orchards, four km from Chantecler or six km from Crinkley Bottom. Full service guesthouse, with conference facilities for up to 30 delegates.

We have a delightfully appointed bar area, leading onto our either our formal or informal lounge, from where you can access the pool area to just relax, or see the sights of the Valley of 1000 Hills, come and join your hosts, Pat and Rob Hoyle.

Fawncastle Estate in Hillcrest Reviewed by Samantha Choonoo, South Africa on . Hillcrest Stay
The staff are very lovely an accommodating people. We had all we needed and the rooms were comfortable and the breakfast was plenty. There was two negatives though, that being the dust particles that caused a hay-fever attack that lasted the entire first night of our stay. However upon explaining this to the day-cleaner she washed out the blanket provided and this in itself made a major difference in my comfort level. The second issue was that although the air-con switched on it failed to work so the best option was to switch it off completely and use the extra blanket provided after it had been washed. But I must add that while those 2 point were not ideal, upon complaining that I myself could not sleep due to my mothers heavy snoring the keeper put me up in an empty room free of charge which was quite hospitable. All-in-all everything turned out nicely.
