Description
Old Joe's Kaia is a unique small family owned and run guesthouse situated in the magnificent Schoemanskloof Valley. This venue is known for its excellent cuisine, relaxed homely atmosphere and personal service. Swimming pool, prolific birding and exhilarating walks. Experience harmony and tranquility! We speak English, Afrikaans and German.

Accommodation is offered in Log Cabins, Rondavels and Kaia Rooms. Each of these units has a different theme and is uniquely decorated accordingly. All units have a balcony /verandah and bathroom en suite (bath and shower). Regrettably no children under the age of 6 are allowed, unless by special arrangement. Old Joe's Kaia has always been well-known for its excellent cuisine and fabulous wines.

Our meals are creative yet wholesome with a country flair. Trout from the area is a regular feature, as well as venison and ostrich.Meals can be enjoyed inside the cosy lounge-dining area or outside on the balcony at tree-top level. The view from the balcony is graced by the mountain in the distance and the lush garden below.

Many interesting birds can be observed from here. Breakfast consists of an A 'la Carte menu for ZAR90. Lunch is also served from an A 'la Carte menu. Dinner is a 4-course set menu for ZAR170. Picnic baskets or food packs /backpacks can also be arranged. Advance bookings are essential for Dinner, while it is advisable to book for Breakfast and Lunch, especially for groups.

Old Joe's Kaia in Schoemanskloof Reviewed by Jacqui McKnight, South Africa on . A tranquil and peaceful place Old Joe's Kaia is a lovely place to stop off on the way back from the Kruger and a break in the journey, it is peaceful, beautiful gardens, with lots of different trees and plants. Paul was a great host and we were welcomed by Melissa and chatted. Really tranquil and a great way to end our holiday before getting back to the Gauteng madness. We would like to walk to the Crocodile River. Sometime and learn about the birds.
