Description
Comfort, beauty and warm hospitality await you at Fernkloof Lodge, where guests leave as friends.

Your hosts, Gail and Izak Kenney, welcome you into the warmth and comfort of their home, nestled at the foot of the majestic Hermanus Mountains and overlooking the 21st tee of the Hermanus Golf Course, which is a world-class golf course.

Fernkloof Lodge offers an artistically and elegantly decorated home with an eclectic combination of antique and modern pieces complimenting this distinctive decorative style. Beautiful collector's items, original artworks, African curios and one of the finest collection of books will keep you enthused for hours in this interesting home.

The indigenous garden is tranquil and the patio and sparkling swimming pool offer the ideal relaxation area for those wishing to enjoy the pristine coastal air that Hermanus is renowned for. If you are looking for the ultimate in relaxation and privacy, Fernkloof Lodge is the answer.

Fernkloof Lodge offers you luxuriously decorated en-suite rooms and a fully-equipped self-catering unit ideal for a family holiday apartment. We offer 4 Star graded B&B accommodation and optional self-catering spacious rooms with en-suite bathrooms. A full English breakfast, dinner and picnic baskets are available on request. We also supply tea and coffee trays, a bar fridge and a TV in the rooms, as well as electric blankets and wall heaters for the cold nights.

Hermanus has often been referred to as the "Riviera of the South" in bygone days, and for all intents and purposes, maintained its status albeit with a modern fusion of luxury holiday homes dotting the pristine coastline, funky cafes, coffee shops and eateries overlooking Walker Bay, speciality shops to delight even the most selective shopper and craft markets to keep you busy for hours.

Probably best known for its renowned Cliff Paths which meander along the coastline, Hermanus has become a whale watchers paradise. Visitors come annually from far and wide to view one of nature's spectacular events when whales come close into Walker Bay to calve. Their antics will amuse you for hours on end, so be prepared. Pack a picnic or have lunch at one of the many little eateries along the magnificent coastline where the uninterrupted views of Walker Bay will ensure endless pleasure during the whale season.

Hermanus is home to some of the finest beaches in the world. There are several beaches from which to choose, Grotto Beach being possibly the most popular with it’s picturesque mountain backdrop and expansive powdery white beach sand.

Grotto Beach is a Blue Flag beach stretching for kilometres. Dutchies Restaurant, a play park, lots of parking and excellent ablution facilities make this a favourite beach amongst the holidaymakers. Grotto Beach is situated towards the Voëlklip side of Hermanus. Hawston Beach, in the village of Hawston, is a magnificent beach with picnic and braai areas. Voëlklip Beach has ablution facilities, is a good surf spot and great for tanning in the sun. A definite family favourite. Sandbaai offers rock pools and great snorkeling, while Onrus Beach has great bodyboarding and surfing, as well as very safe swimming. Breakfast Bay, situated at Vermont, is a good picnic spot and very sheltered beach. It is very popular with sandboarders.

Another famous feature of the surrounding area is the white shark cage diving and surface viewing. It has become one of South Africa's biggest tourist attractions in the past few years, with most of the white shark dive operators working out of Gansbaai, just a few minutes' drive from Hermanus.

Please note we do not accommodate children younger than five years of age.
For the B&B tariff children pay half price.
