Description
Pride Rock Lodge is situated in Vanderkloof, Northern Cape Province, South Africa. Vanderkloof was founded in 1967 when the PK le Roux dam was build, now known as the Vanderkloof dam. The Vanderkloof dam is the second largest dam in SA and has the highest dam wall in SA at 108m. Our lodge consists of 28 rooms, all en-suite. We offer excellent conference facilities as well as a restaurant that can cater for up to 150 people. We have a licensed bar, pool table, lounge with a TV, swimming pool, price winning garden and breathtaking view over the Vanderkloof dam. Vanderkloof is arguably the town with the lowest crime rate in South Africa and has been described as "real oasis in the Karoo".

Pride Rock Lodge in Vanderkloof Reviewed by Anthea Arends, South Africa on . I'd cut my stay short at pride rock lodge. the room was beautiful as well as the scenery outside and on the premises itself, but what disappointed us most was that we were greeted by cockroaches in our room, the bedding was dusty and no bar fridge. ESTABLISHMENT RESPONSE: We thank you for your great service and support, we love dealing with Safari Now, you are a great team! On a little more sombre note with regards to Anthea Arends' review we would like to follow up with the following statements: a) We enjoyed their company and played with their lovely little daughter in close proximity of other guests at our swimming pool and in our garden. We regularly asked if all was well and if we could do anything to make their stay memorable. We always got the response from them "Everything is fine"! b) Vanderkloof is a little oasis on the edge of The Great Karoo. It is surrounded only by farms, nature reserve and vast expanses of Karoo. Dust and insects are a daily part of our lives. We regularly fumigate, every second week to be precise, as insects including mosquitoes, cockroaches, crickets and swarms of moths fly, jump and climb all over the Karoo. We had just fumigated the whole Pride Rock Lodge before Mrs. Arends and her family arrived. The cockroaches had fled from crevices etc to get away from the fumigation. We work hard to keep our place insect free as it is very embarrassing when our guests complain about anything. c) As mentioned above, we are surrounded by nature, farms and lots of dust. When the wind blows we have to clean our rooms several times a day. Sometimes guests are shown their rooms and dust blows into the room as we speak. If you look at our garden you wouldn't say the lodge is situated in the Karoo. We use lots of water to water our plants and to combat dust blowing onto our premises and into our rooms.
