Description
Mazwil Retreat – a self-catering getaway place to relax, revitalize and invigorate yourself and your family. Situated 180 km from Cape Town, on R60 (between Ashton and Swellendam), Mazwil Retreat is a 450 ha farm with abundant protea, renosterveld, birdlife and animal life typical of the untouched veld of this area.

The retreat is surrounded by dairy, fruit, pork, and wine farms. The fully equipped house offers two double rooms, one en-suite and a bunkroom sleeping four. Enjoy yourselves in the pool at the house or relax in the lapa at the dam. Walking/ hiking. Quad tracks. Bird watching, Bass fishing. Wine and cheese tasting.

Mazwil Retreat in Ashton Reviewed by Chloe Walker, South Africa on . AMAZING! Myself and seven other girlfriends stayed at Mazwil Retreat over this last weekend for the Wacky Wine. And oh my word we were blown away. The accommodation is so so beautiful, from the gigantic fire place in the lounge for the cold nights to the gorgeous views. The house also features everything you need and more, all you need to bring along is some clothes and food! A huge thank you to Ruth the manager she was friendly and accommodating. We WILL definitely be back!

We enjoyed our time spent at Mazwil Retreat.The views in the evening and morning was absolutely stunning it was a very relaxing experience.Ruth the owner was very pleasant and helpful.The attached pond provided hours of enjoyment to our sons and they managed to catch a few bass on a catch and release basis.The general experience at the main house was good it is spacious with all relevant amenities available the only exception was that there was no tv for the kids.There was a hi-fi available but this did not seem to work.We however felt that the house could be better maintained in general.
