M’phingwe Eco Lodge is situated in the forests of central Mozambique at Catapu, near Caia on the Zambezi River, which is also the location of our on-site sawmill. The lodge has become a destination for ecotourism, scientific research and the centre of an ambitious community based conservation program.
The camp provides a tranquil respite from the stresses of normal life. Visitors can explore the area on foot or by car, or relax and enjoy the complete silence and admire the myriad of stars at night, unimpeded by light pollution.
M’phingwe is situated on the main EN1 highway in central Mozambique, 32 km before the town of Caia along the Zambezi River. Providing much more than merely a stopover while driving through Mozambique, the camp and surrounding concession are rich in flora and fauna, and the area is ripe for exploration. |
