Description
Geelhout is located on the Ysrivier Farm in Baviaanskloof. Owners Petrus and Helene offer warm hospitality and accommodation in the houses on the farm as well as the campsites. This open-plan chalet sleeps three people and offers a true farm experience.

The chalet is set amid yellowwood trees and has a double bed and a single bed in the living space. Linen and towels are provided. There is a bathroom with a shower. The living area has a well-equipped kitchen with a fridge-freezer, a two-plate hot stove and a microwave oven for self-catering purposes. Outside is a braai area for wonderful evenings around the fire.

The farm is 45 km from Patensie and a working farm that produces oranges, potatoes and tobacco. Guests are able to watch and participate in the farming experience. Day trips to the adjacent Baviaanskloof Nature Conservation can be arranged and guests can enjoy looking for wild animals and admiring the magnificent scenery. Guests can enjoy hiking trails through indigenous vegetation and gorges. A mountain stream is ideal for a cool down along the trails.

Geelhout in Cambria Reviewed by Jack Nel, South Africa on . Nice Nice. Pleasant setting. Kitchen area cramped. Too much in too little space. Everything functioned properly. We enjoyed our stay.
Geelhout in Cambria Reviewed by Wilna Wolmarans, South Africa on . What can I say? We booked a night in Geelhout long before our stay there, and paid the full amount at that stage. I however can't rate Geelhout, as it wasn't available when we arrived. There was nobody at the reception and the housekeeper told us that nobody was available and no phones worked, so she couldn't contact anybody. She checked the bookings and saw that we were put up in another house, namely "Bobbejaan", but said she didn't know if the house was ready. We drove up to the house, where everything was fine. But nobody ever came around and explained what happened, or asked if it was okay with us. Bobbejaan definitely is not for persons having problems with walking - it has a high step just bang in the middle of the kitchen, and another going into the bathroom.
