Description
Porini Amboseli Camp is located within the exclusive Selenkay Conservancy, in the Amboseli eco-system, an important wildlife dispersal area and rangeland for wildlife moving out of Amboseli National park.

The camp facilities include nine spacious guest tents, comfortably furnished and with en-suite bathrooms including shower, wash basin and flush toilet.Tents have solar-powered electric lighting. The camp is small and is on the lines of the traditional luxury safari camp, but with more comfortable bathroom arrangements than were available to the big game hunters of earlier years.

The camp provides an exclusive experience catering to a maximum of 18 guests at a time. All transport on this safari is in a specially designed open-sided Landrover four wheel drive safari vehicle. Going on safari in a 'proper' safari vehicle gives a far better safari experience than traveling in the minibus vans with window seats used by other tour operators! And as Selenkay Conservation Area is a private game reserve you will not see any other vehicles or minibuses.

From Porini Amboseli Camp guests have game drives with excellent guides in the Selenkay Conservancy and in the Amboseli National Park. A full day is spent in the park with a picnic lunch to get close to the elephants and other wildlife. One of the highlights is an escorted walk with Maasai warriors to visit an authentic Maasai village. Night game drives are taken in the Selenkay Conservancy to seek out the nocturnal animals. At the camps all meals, drinks (wine, gin and tonic, beer, sodas, mineral water), and all activities including game drives, walks, night drives and sundowners are included in the price.

Porini Amboseli Camp in Namanga Reviewed by Adriaan Janse Van Rensburg, South Africa on . Great Had an excellent time with the game watchers. The guides and camp staff were brilliant. The camp is comfortable without being over commercialised and I especially enjoyed the low impact footprint approach. The guides really knew their stuff. The walk with the Masai was an experience to remember. We saw lots of game - big and small. Elephants in the park became as regular as trees. It is also good to see the local Masai benefitting and sharing in the initiative in many ways. Thank you guys, would love to bring my family with next time.
