Description
Shankara Rest Camp is an ideal halfway stop between Etosha National Park and the Caprivi, leaving you rested and fresh to tackle the drive ahead. Visit Poppa Falls and reach the Caprivi early enough to go for a sunset cruise, be it on the Kwando or Zambezi.

Under the umbrella of the huge indigenous trees with numerous bird species, a splash in the Olympic-size swimming pool will charge your batteries and have you ready to go on a splendid Okavango sunset boat cruise. Camping or staying in the chalets, Shankara offers a full relaxing holiday, quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. The avid angler can go and catch himself a feisty tiger fish while the others are reading or sleeping in the cool shade of the beautiful garden.

We can supply meals if booked well in advance, and Shankara also offers a very basic farm shop and a basic bar as well as a TV with DStv. For the business person, this welcome stopover, just over halfway between Windhoek and Katima Mulilo, will have you doing your business in Rundu, and still have a good rest and sunset cruise or quick fishing at Shankara. The four-hour drive to Katima will then leave you feeling great to start with business that afternoon, without the terrible tiredness the extra kilometres of a drive from Rundu would have left you with, and the relaxedness of the previous evening still fresh in your memory.
