Tiaan's Camp is an oasis at the Makgadikgadi National Park entrance gate at Khumaga, within easy reach of Nxai Pan National Park and Central Kalahari Game Reserve. This is also an ideal stopover for travellers on their way from Gauteng to Maun.
On the western edge of the great Makgadikgadi Pans on the Boteti river bank we provide affordable accommodation in our six chalets, or you can camp in one of our fully serviced camp sites. The eight camp sites have water and electrical connections. The ablution block offers warm water showers, and toilets.
Our restaurant overlooks the Boteti River and on the upper deck you can relax and wait for the elephants or the occasional zebra to come and drink. The restaurant offers simple yet nourishing meals, and cocktails can be enjoyed on the upper deck. Our bar is called ‘Zanzibar’ and we have a modest selection of wines, spirits, beer and sodas to quench your thirst, and if campers need ice they will get it in Zanzibar.
The swimming pool, restaurant and bar will refresh you for your game drives into the park where you can encounter elephants, impalas, kudus, zebras, wildebeest, giraffe and lots more of our furry and feathery friends. If you are lucky and wide-eyed, you can see lion, leopard and even rhinoceros in the park.
Tiaan’s Camp is on the edge of Khumaga village; a 140 km south east of Maun on the main tarred route from Khama Rhino Sanctuary to Maun. A 4x4 off-road vehicle is not needed to get to us. We do offer game drives in our game drive vehicle into the parks. |
