Description
The Glades is a farm in Balowan, located close to Michael House. The cottage is newly built with two double bedrooms that are fully en-suite. There is a large lounge and dining room that is open-plan to a newly fitted kitchen. The veranda stretches the length of the cottage, facing the dam and the spectacular views.

The Glades in Balgowan Reviewed by Jaco Van Buren-Schele, South Africa on . Can improve! We visited The Glades cottage in November 2014. Although the cottage was very nice, the visit lacked a couple of things which in my opinion should have been in place for the amount charged: 1. Nobody was present to welcome us. We had to walk around the main farmhouse looking for someone to assist. We found one of the staff that went and unlocked the front door of the cottage for us. 2. All the windows and shutters were closed upon, and the blinds drawn when we got there. The place was dark and cold. It did not seem like they bothered much to prepare the place for us. 3. The DSTV was not working. When I eventually got hold of the owner, she mentioned to me at least 5 times that she was on a game farm somewhere and could not assist. She told me to contact DSTV myself to get it connected. After I tried and failed, she gave them a call. 4. Lastly, the kitchen is very basic, and the pots and pans are old and rusty and not suitable for proper cooking. The gas for the stove also ran out, and with the owner off on holiday, I didn't bother to get it sorted as I would probably have to do it myself.
